What is lipoprotein

High blood lipids are often spoken of in daily life, where high blood lipids are closely related to lipoproteins. Lipids contained in blood plasma are collectively called lipids, which are insoluble in water and are transported in the plasma as lipoproteins. Lipoproteins are the carriers of insoluble lipids in plasma and combine with proteins to form a complex of lipids and proteins, which is the form in which lipids exist, are transported and are metabolized in the blood. That is, lipoproteins = apolipoproteins + triglycerides, cholesterol, phospholipids. Lipoproteins in human blood are broadly divided into five categories (ultracentrifugation): celiac (CM), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), intermediate density lipoprotein (IDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), and high density lipoprotein (HDL). 1. Celiac particles are mainly derived from the intestine, where dietary cholesterol and triglycerides are synthesized into celiac particles in the small intestine. Its role is to transport exogenous triglycerides to peripheral tissues, and its increase is likely to induce acute pancreatitis. 2.Very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) mainly comes from the liver, mainly to transport endogenous triglycerides to peripheral tissues, providing cholesterol to peripheral tissues, and is a risk factor for coronary heart disease. 3. Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is mainly derived from the catabolism of very low-density lipoprotein, with smaller particles and greater density than VLDL. The role is to transport cholesterol to extrahepatic tissues, which is the main lipoprotein leading to atherosclerosis. 4. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is mainly derived from the liver and intestine. It transports cholesterol from peripheral tissues to the liver for metabolism and is closely related to anti-atherosclerosis. Lipoprotein is the combination of apolipoprotein and lipid in blood, and has a close relationship with cardiovascular system and digestive system related diseases. Abnormal lipoprotein should not be ignored, and it is recommended to have regular checkups to treat problems in time.
