If your baby scratches his ears only occasionally, it is not a problem and can be observed dynamically. If you have a recent history of a fever or cold, you should consider a combination of otitis media, but the ear scratching will usually disappear once the cold is cured. If the ear scratching is frequent, lasts for a long time, or is accompanied by head patting or involuntary head shaking and neck twisting, consider the possibility of ear discomfort. In particular, if your baby has a stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, nose rubbing or eye rubbing, or has a history of eczema or urticaria, or even if there is an abnormal discharge from the external ear canal, such as a yellow or white, greasy discharge, you should be especially alert to the possibility that your baby has eczema. If it is convenient, you can ask the ENT doctor for further examination and judgment so that you can deal with it as appropriate.
