How to read the patient monitor values

The main purpose of the monitor is to monitor the patient’s major vital signs, including heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. The normal range for heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute, below 60 beats per minute is bradycardia and above 100 beats per minute is tachycardia. The normal range of respiration is 12-20 breaths per minute, below 12 breaths per minute is slowed respiration, above 20 breaths per minute is increased respiration. The normal range of blood pressure should be between 90-140 mmHg systolic and 60-90 mmHg diastolic. Also included is the oxygen saturation, which should be above 95% under normal conditions and below 90% to be diagnosed as hypoxemia. On the monitor values, if there are any values below the normal range and above the normal range, the physician should be called immediately to check the patient.
