What is the difference between atrophy marks and stretch marks?

The enlargement of the uterus in late pregnancy and the compression of the inferior vena cava in the supine position, resulting in poor blood return to the lower limbs, increased venous pressure and swelling and pain in the calves, can be considered physiological changes.
If symptoms are not relieved after rest and the pain is more intense, or if varicose veins are observed in the lower legs, one needs to be alert to vascular disease of the lower limbs and should seek medical attention for a clear diagnosis.
