Pain in the back of the head may be related to physiological factors, or it may be caused by cervical spondylosis, high blood pressure, brain tumors and other reasons.
1. Physiological factors: For example, recent work pressure, excessive anxiety and nervousness may cause pain in the back of the head, which may also be accompanied by mental fatigue, weakness and other manifestations.
2. Cervical spondylosis: especially in patients with cervical disc herniation, the protruding cervical disc can easily compress the local nerve roots and blood vessels, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the vertebral basilar arteries, which may cause pain in the back of the head, and may be accompanied by dizziness, neck and shoulder pain and other symptoms.
3. Hypertension: If there is a history of hypertension, due to unstable blood pressure control, resulting in increased pressure on the blood vessel wall, it may cause pain in the back of the head, and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and other symptoms.
4. Brain tumor: If there is a brain tumor in the hindbrain area, due to tumor occupying the position and forming stimulation to the meninges, it may cause pain in the back of the head, and may also be accompanied by nausea, vomiting and other symptoms.
After excluding physiological factors, pain in the back of the head should be taken seriously and early medical treatment should be sought to prevent delay of the condition.
