What is the prognosis for systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis?

SLE nephritis is a lifelong disease, and its prognosis is related to clinical manifestations, the presence or absence of multi-system involvement and pathological manifestations, and cannot be generalized.
Patients with mild renal lesions, especially those without multi-system involvement, can maintain stable condition for a long time if they take medication as prescribed by the doctor and undergo regular checkups.
On the other hand, the prognosis of patients with multi-system involvement, severe renal pathology and active disease is poorer. Currently, the commonly used drugs for lupus nephritis include glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone acetate, immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide, mertiomacrophenol, and newer drugs such as beliliumab. The medication should be used according to the doctor’s prescription, and should not be used on its own.
Patients diagnosed with lupus nephritis are advised to go to regular hospitals and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment in order to alleviate their condition and improve their quality of life.
