The corners of the mouth ulcers do not usually develop into cancer, but the possibility of cancer cannot be ruled out. Patients with occasional ulcers at the corners of the mouth will recover well and will not develop cancer as long as they receive active treatment. However, in some cases, the symptoms of mouth ulcers are recurrent, resulting in recurring ulcers at the corners of the mouth that do not heal, in which case cancer may develop.
