1. Cannot be cured: the hyperinsulinemia caused by congenital hyperinsulinmic hypoglycemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus cannot be cured. Congenital hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia is mainly treated by medication, such as oxytocin, glucagon, etc. Type 2 diabetes is mainly treated by diet control, improvement of life habits, and application of hypoglycemic drugs, such as metformin and acarbose.
2. Possible cure: Hyperinsulinemia caused by insulin β-cell tumor, obesity, and increase of related antagonist hormone may be cured after treating the primary disease, such as insulin β-cell tumor treated by surgery; obese people undergo weight loss; increase of growth hormone, increase of thyroid hormone, and so on, according to the cause of the disease, can be treated by surgery or medication.
