It is not possible to know the sex of the fetus through the non-invasive report card. Non-invasive DNA testing is mainly to assess whether the fetus has chromosome-related disorders.
The non-invasive DNA report result is usually low risk or high risk. A result of low risk means that the incidence of Down’s syndrome in the fetus is very low, and regular checkups can be continued. However, if the non-invasive DNA screening result is high risk, the risk of Down syndrome is high and amniocentesis is required for diagnosis.
Although non-invasive DNA testing also determines the sex chromosomes, the sex of the fetus will not be reflected in the result report. It is important to note that once a fetus is diagnosed with Down syndrome, it is best to terminate the pregnancy with an induced abortion procedure, as the condition is a chromosomal disorder and there is no cure.
It is recommended to undergo regular obstetric checkups, and to deal with any abnormalities once detected.
