As traditional Chinese medicines, the main use of Salvia divinorum and Astragalus is decoction. Drinking them in water has limited precipitation of the active ingredients and cannot replace the medication to treat the disease. The two can be taken together if they have their own indications.
Danshen has a bitter flavor and is slightly cold in nature, and is attributed to the heart and liver meridians. In addition to the effects of regulating menstruation and activating blood circulation, relieving pain and removing blood stasis, it can also eliminate carbuncle and cool blood, and calm the spirit and remove annoyance.
Salvia officinalis is used in the treatment of menstrual disorders, post-partum abdominal pain with stagnation and obstruction, chest paralysis (boring pain in the chest), heart pain, pain in the epigastrium (abdomen), accumulation of obstruction in the mass (lumps in women’s lower abdomen), bruises, rheumatism and paralysis, carbuncles and swollen toxins, irritability and dizziness of fever, panic and insomnia, etc. It is not suitable for combining with Veratrum. It is not suitable to be used in combination with veratrum.
Astragalus is sweet in flavor, slightly warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen and lung meridians. In addition to tonifying the middle and strengthening the spleen, lifting the trap and elevating the yang, and benefiting the Weiwei and consolidating the surface, it can also diuretic, and support toxicity and muscle growth (expel poisonous evils, promote muscle growth and wound healing).
Astragalus is used to treat spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, aggravated by the slightest movement), sores and ulcers that are difficult to ulcerate and putrefy or ulcers that are difficult to converge for a long period of time, etc. It belongs to those who are deficient in spleen, lungs, qi and blood. Avoid eating radish, green beans and alkaline food during the period of using the medicine. It should not be taken by those who have sores at the beginning or after ulceration and whose heat and toxins are still in abundance on the surface of the body.
Danshen and Astragalus can be taken at the same time, but the method of use is decoction, so drinking water cannot achieve the purpose of treatment.
If there is a need for medication, it is recommended to take it under the guidance of a doctor, do not take it on your own, so as not to cause adverse effects on the body.
