The function of varicose vein compression stockings is to relieve the symptoms of the diseased limb caused by varicose veins (e.g., soreness, heaviness and fatigue of the diseased limb), and to slow down the progress of varicose veins. Varicose veins often have soreness and pain on the diseased side of the limb, due to the high pressure in the varicose veins and the stimulation of the nerve endings in the peripheral membrane of the blood vessels. Varicose vein compression stockings relieve the symptoms by compressing the varicose veins so that the varicose veins remain shriveled and no longer congested, and the pressure in the varicose veins is reduced. However, it should be noted that the application of compression stockings for varicose veins can only improve the symptoms and slow down the progress of the disease, but not cure varicose veins. If there is no significant relief or aggravation of symptoms after the application of medical compression stockings, it is recommended to consult a doctor for early treatment to avoid further aggravation of the condition.
