Arthritis Prevention – Diet

Orange juice is already a common drink, not only rich in vitamins and edible fiber, but also tasty. However, we may not know that orange juice also has antioxidant effects, and some studies even point out that orange juice has the effect of preventing arthritis. You should not know the amazing effects of orange juice. In the minds of foreigners, drinking a glass of orange juice is like “drinking a glass of sunshine”. The refreshing sweetness of orange juice not only refreshes you, but is also extraordinarily nutritious. The latest research shows that orange juice can not only prevent arthritis, and antioxidant effect than vitamin C supplements. 1, a glass of orange juice every day, not arthritis British scientists have found that a glass of orange juice every day can help prevent arthritis. The study found that the daily consumption of fruits and vegetables in some carotenoids can play an antioxidant effect in the body, thereby reducing the chances of inflammation of human joints. Carotenoids are a class of yellow to red pigments, and this element is abundant in fruits such as oranges. 2, orange juice antioxidant effect than vitamin C supplements American researchers did such a study. They divided the subjects into three groups, each drinking a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, or an equal amount of vitamin C with plain water, or plain water as sweet as orange juice, but without vitamin C. After drinking, the researchers measured the amount of vitamin C in the subjects’ blood. The results were that drinking orange juice, or drinking plain water with vitamin C, both elevated blood levels of vitamin C. In other words, both nutrients were absorbed with good efficiency. The researchers then added hydrogen peroxide to the blood samples to determine the extent of damage this oxidizing agent does to the body’s genetic material, DNA. It turned out that the degree of DNA damage in the blood samples of people who drank fresh orange juice was significantly less compared to those who drank vitamin C with plain water. In other words, the antioxidant effect of fresh orange juice was much stronger than that of vitamin C with water. The researchers thus concluded that the health benefits in natural orange juice cannot be replaced by simply taking some vitamin tablets. This is because natural orange juice contains multiple health ingredients at the same time, which help and work with each other to maximize the health benefits. It is important to note that commercially available orange juice drinks and orange-flavored beverages do not have this effect, and that only drinking 100 percent pure orange juice is good.
