How infectious diseases are generally prevented

The prevention of infectious diseases can generally start from the three aspects of controlling the source of infection, cutting off the means of transmission and protecting susceptible people, while paying attention to cleanliness, not gathering and avoiding unnecessary exposure. Once infected with infectious diseases should seek medical treatment in a timely manner, to take appropriate isolation and prevention and control means of parallel treatment. 1. Control the source of infection: the diagnosed infectious disease patients, suspected patients and close contacts need to be isolated for observation or related treatment. 2. Cut off the transmission pathway: all kinds of infectious diseases, especially gastrointestinal infectious diseases, respiratory infectious diseases, parasitic diseases or insect-borne infectious diseases, should be properly disinfected and sterilized. 3. Protecting susceptible people: they should wash their hands frequently and not share personal belongings such as towels, toothbrushes, razors, etc. They should also pay attention to wearing masks and changing them frequently for infectious diseases transmitted by droplets, and cover their mouths and noses with their elbows when coughing or sneezing; and they can also be vaccinated against some specific infectious diseases to reduce the chances of illnesses and deaths.
