Do you have to operate on multiple ovarian cysts?

Multiple ovarian cysts do not necessarily require surgery, which needs to be decided according to the nature and size of the ovarian cysts etc.
1. If the multiple ovarian cysts are found after ovulation and are smaller than 3 centimeters, and the cysts disappear after menstruation, the cysts are usually considered to be physiological luteal cysts, and generally do not require treatment.
2. If multiple cysts are found on ultrasound examination after menstruation, and there are no abnormal symptoms, but the volume of the cysts is larger than 5 centimeters or more, surgery is usually needed to remove the cysts, while if the cysts are smaller than 3 centimeters or less, surgery is usually not needed.
3. If a woman has progressively worsening dysmenorrhea and an ultrasound examination reveals multiple cysts on the ovaries, the cysts may be ovarian chocolate cysts. If the cysts are larger than 5 centimeters or more, laparoscopic surgery is usually needed to remove the cysts, and then medications, such as goserelin, need to be used as prescribed by the doctor to prevent recurrence of the cysts.
Women with multiple ovarian cysts are advised to go to the relevant departments of regular hospitals for a clear diagnosis and to follow the doctor’s instructions to adopt the appropriate solution to avoid delaying the condition.
