Effects of Cidan Capsules

Cidan capsule is mainly a proprietary Chinese medicine, its main mechanism of action is to resolve blood stasis and detoxification, benefit Qi and nourish blood, as well as reduce swelling and disperse nodules. It is mainly used for primary liver tumors, cirrhosis and malignant tumors of the bile ducts, which cause jaundice and poor liver function, especially for patients in the decompensated stage of cirrhosis, and can be considered in moderation. However, it is not recommended for long-term use because of the slight toxicity of these drugs and other components of opium bile. In addition, for patients with bile duct tumor disease or primary tumors of the liver, an enhanced CT or MRI of the upper abdomen is required. After the diagnosis is confirmed, the patient also needs to undergo pathological examination, i.e. ultrasound-guided liver aspiration, if necessary. After pathological diagnosis, surgical treatment can be considered, and surgery is still the preferred treatment for liver tumor disease. After liver surgery, patients can consider about 4-6 times of interventional perfusion chemoembolization, after such treatment, patients’ tumor treatment is more standardized. For Cidan capsule, it is only an adjuvant treatment and should not be used as the main treatment modality.
