Is presbyopia really the only way to wear glasses?

As we grow older, people begin to find that when reading newspapers, or books, we can’t help but turn the newspaper or book away from our eyes so that we can see clearly, but our arms can’t stretch indefinitely, and when presbyopia gets progressively worse, we need a pair of fancy glasses to read the words on the newspaper. This is when presbyopia starts to bother us, and we keep taking off and wearing our glasses in order to satisfy the need to see far and near, which brings us a lot of inconvenience. In fact, the age of onset of presbyopia is not old! Generally speaking, from the age of 41, we have entered the process of presbyopia, with the development of modern society, people work for a longer period of time, the age of more than 40 years old is the peak of the career, a pair of fancy glasses make many successful people distressed! In order to get rid of the dependence on presbyopic glasses, eye scientists have worked tirelessly, and in the past 10 years, new laser surgery for the treatment of presbyopia is emerging, although the country is only just starting, in my personal experience, in the United States, laser surgery for presbyopia accounts for 20% of the entire refractive surgery. The post-operative results are satisfactory and significantly improve the quality of life. Common surgical approaches include monocular vision and multifocal laser surgery in both eyes. In the case of monocular vision, the current technology is mature, and preoperative contact lenses are worn on a trial basis to simulate the postoperative results, making the surgery safe and the postoperative results expected to be good. Patient satisfaction is high. We currently perform presbyopia surgery and offer free preoperative examinations and consultations.
