Sequelae of fracture nailing

Internal fixation of fractures with steel nails is a basic treatment for fractures, and there are generally no significant sequelae associated with the implantation of steel nails. Due to the current maturity of fracture surgery and the development of nail materials, the implantation of steel nails in fracture surgery hardly brings obvious sequelae. Postoperative sequelae such as malunion, pain, etc. are mainly caused by improper care or early mobilization, and are not significantly related to nail implantation. Therefore, after implantation of steel nails, we should pay special attention to strengthen the nursing care, and at the same time, we should avoid premature weight-bearing activities of the affected limbs, so as to avoid poor healing of the fracture, or even serious dysfunction and other sequelae. In conclusion, nailing itself usually does not bring sequelae, and the reasonable application of nailing can help stabilize the fracture and accelerate the repair of the fracture, so as to reduce the sequelae caused by the fracture.
