Complications in young diabetic patients are mainly twofold: 1. Acute complications: such as diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome, and lactic acidosis. Different acute complications have different prevalent populations and different causative factors; acute complications without active management can lead to death, so patients must be treated promptly; 2. Chronic complications: chronic complications of diabetes are mainly peripheral neuropathy, such as numbness in the hands, numbness in the feet, and itching all over the body; followed by vasculopathy, where diabetes can affect large blood vessels and microvessels; in addition, it can lead to gangrene. Different chronic complications affect different organs and produce different symptoms; for different diabetic individuals, the complications also vary.
