Are pleural nodules serious?

Whether a pleural nodule is serious or not is determined by whether the nodule is benign or malignant.
If it is clear that the nodule is an inflammatory nodule, such as caused by a bacterial infection in the lungs or pleura, after blood tests and pathologic examinations, the condition is relatively mild. After scientific treatment, the nodule can be relieved as the inflammation is controlled, and even if it cannot be completely absorbed, it will not continue to grow and cause coughing and other uncomfortable symptoms.
However, if cancer cells are found in the pathology examination, it may be caused by metastasis of lung cancer, and the condition is relatively serious. Timely radiotherapy, chemotherapy or surgery is needed. Meanwhile, the number of completely cured cases is relatively small, and the average 5-year survival rate is 15%~17%.
The specific cause of the disease should be clarified after medical examination, and the doctor’s opinion should prevail.
