Globulin is a serum protein present in the human body, a very common protein, mainly produced by the immune organs, and has a certain relationship with the immunity of the body, so, clinically, it is also called immunoglobulin. Globulins can generally be divided into four types: α1, α2, β, and γ. Increased γ protein is commonly found in diseases of the hepatobiliary system, such as chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver in the decompensated stage, and liver cancer, etc. Clinically, increased γ protein can help diagnose and differentially diagnose these diseases. Of course, certain non-pathological factors, such as blood concentration, staying up late, drinking alcohol may also lead to a transient increase of γ globulin, but after avoiding the triggering factors, it can generally return to normal. If the gamma globulin is high, we should first exclude the diseases of liver and biliary system before considering the non-pathological factors.
