Self-healing of pericoronitis

Pericoronitis is not self-healing, if the occurrence of pericoronitis, treatment methods include anti-inflammatory analgesia, incision and drainage, pericoronary gingival flap excision, extraction of the affected tooth, etc., as follows. 1. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic: saline, 1%~3% hydrogen peroxide solution, 0.1% chlorhexidine solution, etc. are often used to rinse the gingival pocket repeatedly until the overflow liquid is clear, and then topical iodine glycerin is applied into the gingival pocket. 2. Incision and drainage: If an abscess forms in the pericoronal area, it should be incised in time to drain the pus. 3. Peri-coronary gingivectomy: after the acute inflammation subsides, for the wisdom teeth that can erupt normally, the peri-coronary gingivectomy is performed under local anesthesia to eliminate the blind pocket. 4. Extraction of the affected tooth: If the affected tooth is severely diseased and has no value for retention, it should be extracted as soon as possible.
