Why does blood pressure go up when the heart rate is low?

Generally, a low heart rate does not cause high blood pressure, but there are cases where a low heart rate is combined with high blood pressure. There are five main factors that affect blood pressure: output per beat, peripheral resistance, heart rate, elasticity of the walls of the aorta and large arteries, and circulating blood volume and vascular volume. Normally, with a lower heart rate, blood pressure may be lower, not higher. Therefore there is generally no relationship between low heart rate and high blood pressure. When both low heart rate and high blood pressure occur at the same time, the main consideration is that the low heart rate is combined with high blood pressure. The causes of low heart rate mainly include sinus bradycardia, such as long-term heavy physical labor in healthy people and athletes; hypothyroidism; increased intracranial pressure and so on. Low heart rate, high blood pressure, it is recommended that timely emergency, improve the relevant examination to clarify the cause of the disease, standardized treatment under the guidance of a physician, do not unauthorized treatment, to avoid adverse consequences.
