Aconite and Gui Zhi Tang is composed of five aconites, three taels of gui zhi, three taels of peony, two taels of licorice, three taels of ginger, and twelve jujubes. It is usually taken internally in a decoction as prescribed by the doctor.
Aconite and Gui Zhi Tang has the efficacy of warming menstruation, dispersing cold, and promoting Yang and paralysis. It is often used in treating cold hernia, pain in the abdomen, coldness, and unkindness of the hands and feet.
In the formula, aconite is very hot and pungent to disperse cold, gui zhi helps Yang to pass through the channels to relieve the epidermis (sweating is used to make the evil qi trapped in the epidermis go out), white peony strengthens the couper (pores) and blood, ginger is pungent and warm to help gui zhi to dispersal the epidermis (evil qi in the epidermis) and harmonize the stomach to stop vomiting.
Jujubes benefit Qi and tonify the middle; licorice combines with cinnamon sticks to neutralize Yang to strengthen Wei, and combines with Paeonia lactiflora to neutralize Yin to harmonize Ying.
Clinically, it is effective in treating cold hernia and abdominal pain (acute abdominal pain caused by cold internal organs and external wind-cold), urolithiasis, hemorrhoids, lumbar and leg pain, ankylosing spondylitis and other diseases under the guidance of a doctor after identification of the symptoms of the disease.
