A mixed hemorrhoid is one in which the venous plexus above and below the rectal dentate line in the same area is simultaneously varicose, enlarged, and congested, communicating and anastomosing with each other, and the sphincter sulcus disappears. The surface of the hemorrhoid nucleus above the tooth line is rectal mucosa, and the surface of the hemorrhoid below the tooth line is covered by the skin of the anal canal, which is commonly known as a whole formed by the internal and external hemorrhoid parts, then it is called mixed hemorrhoid. The symptoms of mixed hemorrhoids have the characteristics of both internal and external hemorrhoids. In general, internal hemorrhoids are present first, and later, due to varicose veins, they are accompanied by external hemorrhoids. They are mostly found in the truncated position 3, 7 and 11 points. Therefore, the diagnosis is not difficult, as long as the patient is asked to make a bowel movement and struggle the anus, the internal hemorrhoid part can be quickly released or engorged and bulged. Mixed hemorrhoids are common among anorectal diseases and can occur at any age except in children and adolescents. The main symptoms of mixed hemorrhoids are hemorrhage and prolapse, which bring a lot of pain and inconvenience to the life and work of the patient; while long-term blood in the stool makes the body weak and even produces symptoms of anemia such as atrophy, dizziness, blurred eyes, and weakness. Mixed hemorrhoids can generally be divided into the following categories (1) the nature of external hemorrhoids to be divided into ① inflammatory mixed hemorrhoids; ② thrombotic mixed hemorrhoids; ③ connective tissue mixed hemorrhoids; ④ varicose veins mixed hemorrhoids. The latter two are the most common in clinical practice. (2) The number of hemorrhoids is divided into ① simple mixed hemorrhoids; ② multiple mixed hemorrhoids; ③ circumferential mixed hemorrhoids; ④ complex mixed hemorrhoids. The main symptoms of mixed hemorrhoids are: ① Blood in the stool: blood in the stool or ejection of blood, bright red blood, not mixed with feces. (2) Swelling and pain: there is a feeling of downward movement or foreign body in the anus, and the internal hemorrhoid part is easily prolapsed by force during stool. ③Prolapse: As internal hemorrhoids often prolapse outside the anus, the mucous membrane is stimulated and mucus secretion increases a lot, which can lead to dampness, itching and inflammation or eczema of the perianal skin. The treatment of mixed hemorrhoids should be based on the treatment of internal hemorrhoids; if the external part of the mixed hemorrhoids is larger than the internal hemorrhoids, then the treatment of external hemorrhoids is the main focus.
