High uric acid is mainly due to the defective metabolism of xanthine oxidase enzyme in human body which leads to the impaired metabolism of purine substances, rather uric acid appears to accumulate in the body and the blood uric acid level increases. In daily life, high uric acid can also occur when the body consumes too much food containing uric acid salts, such as seafood and animal offal, which exceeds the body’s ability to break down and metabolize them. It may also be due to the body’s reduced ability to excrete, such as chronic nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, rheumatic immune system diseases or paraneoplastic syndrome due to certain tumors, all of which can have elevated uric acid, and specific tests should be performed to distinguish them.
