A post-ovulatory fever is not necessarily a pregnancy that occurs in a woman, but may be related to a woman getting a cold or flu. This is because the rise in body temperature after ovulation is usually within the normal range, just around 36.8 degrees and not more than 37 degrees. When a woman has a fever after ovulation and her body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees, it may be related to a cold or flu. Therefore, when a woman has a fever after ovulation, it is best to go to the hospital to have her blood checked for chorionic gonadotropin levels. If the body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees and the woman has a cough, headache and general weakness, she needs to be treated with physical cooling and anti-infective drugs in time to avoid adverse effects on her health.
