When a pregnant woman is about to give birth, she is considered to be in preterm labor or in labor, and she may experience symptoms such as irregular contractions, redness, and the feeling of the fetus descending.
1. Pre-eclampsia is a variety of manifestations that occur in pregnant women before labor begins.
(1) Irregular contractions: these are symptoms caused by the increased sensitivity of the uterine myometrium before labor starts, manifested as irregular tightness, hardness and slight pain in the lower abdomen, which mostly occur at night but last for a short period of time.
(2) Seeing red: 24 to 48 hours before labor, the fetal membranes near the endocervix of pregnant women separate from the uterine wall here, and the capillaries may rupture, thus causing a small amount of vaginal bleeding or discharge of light bloody mucus, which is called seeing red.
(3) Fetal descent: The descent of the fetal prelude and its entry into the pelvis leads to a lowering of the uterine fundus, which makes the pregnant woman feel more comfortable in the epigastric region than before, and due to the compression of the bladder by the descent of the fetal prelude, frequent urination may also occur.
2. Prolonged labor, when the pregnant woman is really in labor, the typical symptom is that the contractions become regular and gradually strengthen, each contraction lasts 30 seconds, with an interval of 5-6 minutes, and the symptom cannot be relieved after resting. Gynecological examination may reveal that the cervical canal becomes soft and the mouth of the uterus opens wide.
If the above symptoms appear in late pregnancy, you should consult a doctor for examination, such as ultrasound, internal examination, etc. If you are sure that labor is about to start, you should be hospitalized and wait for delivery.
