What is the survival time for a thymoma metastasized to the lungs?

When thymoma lung metastasis is treated aggressively, the 5-year survival rate of patients is about 30% to 35%.

Lung metastasis is one of the more common forms of metastasis for thymoma. If the patient is in good health and can tolerate further treatment, there is still a chance for further treatment to slow down the progression of the disease and prolong the survival cycle.

If the number of lung metastases is small, consider consulting a thoracic surgeon for further evaluation of the disease to see if a second surgery can be performed to relieve symptoms or obtain a radical cure. If there is no chance of surgery, radiation therapy may be considered, and systemic therapy may be required if the metastases are extensive.

Under the standard treatment status, the 5-year survival rate of patients with lung metastasis of thymic carcinoma is around 30%~35%, and a few patients with better treatment results can obtain longer survival.
