Hip asymmetry is commonly caused by developmental hip dislocation, scoliosis, trauma, etc. It can be corrected by plaster immobilization treatment and surgical treatment.
1. Developmental hip dislocation: developmental hip dislocation is common in infants or children stage, caused by acetabular dysplasia. If the age is less than 6 months, it can be treated by frog cast immobilization, or special sling support immobilization. If the orthosis is not obvious or is not corrected, it can be treated with orthopedic surgery when the child is relatively older.
2. Scoliosis: It may lead to pelvic tilt and thus hip asymmetry, which may affect the development of the hip joint in the later stages of a developing child. It is recommended to limit strenuous exercise and spinal curvature, maintain correct standing posture, posture, etc., and regular review, if the scoliosis can not be corrected through rehabilitation, surgery is recommended.
3. Trauma: If the scoliosis is caused by trauma, it can be corrected through manipulation, brace or wide herringbone cast immobilization. If the condition is serious, it can be corrected by surgery.
If the hip asymmetry is accompanied by poor hip development or affects normal walking, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis, clarify the cause of the disease, and then carry out regular treatment as soon as possible.
