Swelling sensation in the ear is the early symptom of middle ear cancer, and in the advanced stage, there is obvious pain. Middle ear cancer is a malignant cancer that occurs in the middle ear, it accounts for 1.5% of ear tumors and 0.06% of systemic tumors. Bloody ear leakage, deafness and swelling in the ear are often early symptoms. This is followed by deep throbbing pain in the ear, radiating to the temporal and occipital regions. Most patients have granulation or polypoid tissue growth in the middle ear cavity or the posterior wall of the bony external auditory canal, which blocks the ear canal and bleeds easily. If the carcinoma starts from the tympanic promontory or mastoid process, facial paralysis and vertigo can be seen in the early stage; in the late stage, there is difficulty in opening the mouth and symptoms such as cerebral nerve paralysis of V, VI, IX, X, XII, and XII. Cervical lymph node metastasis may occur on the affected side or bilaterally, and there are also cases of metastasis to internal organs or bones. X-ray or CT examination of the base of the skull in chin-parietal position and temporal bone can show the extent of cancer erosion; the diagnosis can be confirmed by pathologic examination, and treatment can be selected according to the type of cancer. In addition, taking secretion from external ear canal for exfoliative cell examination can also help diagnosis. 1. Otoscopy: granulation, polypoid or papillary neoplasm can be seen in the external auditory canal and middle ear, which can bleed easily when touched. 2.CT.MRI examination: it can clarify the scope of tumor invasion. 3.Systemic examination: except secondary and metastatic cancer.
