Which foods should not be touched by pregnant women

There are a few three types of food that pregnant women should not touch:

1. Alcohol and alcoholic food and beverages: Alcohol is the one food that has clear adverse results in current research, and drinking alcohol during pregnancy may affect the fetus.

2. Fish with high levels of mercury: The FDA clearly states to avoid mackerel, squareheads, shark, and swordfish.

3. Unpasteurized and undercooked meat and dairy products: Microorganisms such as Enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella, and Listeria monocytogenes are often present in these foods, leading to infections in pregnant women and, in severe cases, to fetal demise in the womb.

It is recommended that pregnant women have a varied and balanced diet and are not picky about what they eat, but the above three types of food should be avoided as much as possible during pregnancy.
