Pancreatic patients should not eat high-fat, high-protein foods and strong alcohol. The pancreas can secrete pancreatic enzymes, the main function of which is to neutralize stomach acid and help digest food. After fatty and protein foods are ingested into the stomach, it can stimulate the pancreas to secrete a large amount of pancreatic juice to help digest fatty and protein foods. Patients who suffer from pancreatitis themselves should try to avoid eating high-fat and high-protein foods in their diet. The secretion of pancreatic fluid will increase when these two foods are ingested, and when there is poor discharge of pancreatic fluid it will be self-digesting to the pancreas and induce an attack of pancreatitis. In particular, drinking alcohol while eating high-protein and high-fat foods can also cause edema of the duodenal papilla and spasm of the sphincter of Oddi, which can affect the secretion of pancreatic fluid and trigger the disease. Patients suffering from pancreatitis should eat a light diet and quit drinking in time to reduce the onset of the disease.
