A few pitting calcifications on mammogram are usually not serious. Calcifications on mammogram can be classified into benign regular punctate, flaky or curved calcifications and malignant irregular deposits or pinpoints; a few punctate calcifications are mostly caused by breast hyperplasia, which are benign lesions and generally do not require special treatment; while malignant irregular clusters of calcifications may be malignant tumors of the breast, which may require further examination, such as puncture and biopsy. Mammography is a simple, reliable and non-invasive means of diagnosing and screening for breast diseases, and can detect small, hard-to-touch breast lumps; in addition, early breast cancer can be detected through mammography, which is recommended for high-risk, high-age women. Mammography examination found breast calcification, it is recommended to do further examination, to be able to clearly confirm the diagnosis, so as to achieve early clarification of the nature, early treatment.
