Are Bone Density Shots Necessary?

For certain patients, injections related to boosting bone density are necessary. For example, for patients presenting with severe osteoporosis, elderly patients with osteoporosis, or endocrine-related osteoporosis, injection therapy is often necessary to facilitate their recovery.
Osteoporosis is a chronic condition. When a patient is recognized as having an episode of the disease, in most cases, he or she can be treated for a long period of time by means of oral medications. For example, for most patients, bisphosphonates can be used in combination with calcium and vitamin D supplements.
In the case of the patients with the above mentioned conditions, injection therapy is needed as they need to be treated intensively within a short period of time or apply some long-lasting drugs. For example, for the patients mentioned above, injections of salmon calcitonin, zoledronic acid, calcium gluconate, estrogen substitutes, and so on, can be applied.
It is recommended that patients should go to a regular medical institution in time when osteoporosis occurs, follow the doctor’s prescription for medication, and cooperate with the doctor to take appropriate treatment.
