What does liver blistering mean?

Liver blisters are usually cysts on the liver that are detected by ultrasound or CT plain scan. For liver cysts, the most common are benign liver cysts. Liver cysts less than 5 cm can be left untreated and the ultrasound of the upper abdomen is reviewed every six months or a year to see changes in the size of the cyst diameter. If the liver cyst is more than 5 cm, it depends on the location of the liver cyst. If it is on the surface of the liver, laparoscopic debulking and drainage of the liver cyst can be actively performed. For cysts located in the liver parenchyma, observation can be continued or partial hepatectomy can be done as appropriate. In addition, there are some liver metastatic tumors that may also appear similar to liver cysts and need to be differentiated. However, at this time, patients need to actively undergo enhanced CT examination to determine whether it is a benign liver cyst or a possible metastatic cancer of the liver formed after tumor metastasis.
