Ribofasciitis is a chronic painful condition due to an aseptic inflammatory reaction, or a fibrous connective tissue inflammatory reaction, in the muscles and fascial tissues surrounding the ribs. It can be due to chronic minor injuries, in the long-term chronic minor injuries, the attached muscles and fascial tissues around the ribs produce fibrosis or scarring, and gradually form pain points or palpable fibrous nodules of pain, and the slightest stimulation can cause pain. It can also be due to aseptic inflammatory pain after feeling wind-cold or cold stimulation, being exposed to rain and water, cold and moisture; it may also be due to the patient’s pain after a rib fracture and other factors, resulting in mental tension, further prompting an increase in muscle tension, or even muscle spasm, aggravating the pain, forming a vicious circle, leading to the inflammatory reaction of the rib’s fascia. Patients can mostly touch the pain, or soreness, or tingling, the pain point in the subcutaneous can be touched nodules, when the symptoms are relieved, such nodules can disappear.
