Echo-free ovaries are not follicles

Ovarian anechoia: 1. may be a follicle. 2. may also be a cyst of the ovary. Ovarian anechoia is an ultrasound imaging report result. When a woman has small anechoic echogenicity observed under ultrasound during the pre-ovulatory phase, it may be a growing follicle. If there are still anechoic on the ovary in the late ovulation period, it may be due to the formation of cysts encapsulated by exudate from inflammation, the presence of which is not related to the menstrual cycle. In this case, the woman does not have lower abdominal pain, so she can observe it temporarily and review the pelvic ultrasound again after the menstruation clears to observe the ovaries before making a decision. Therefore, when there are no echogenicity on the ovaries, the decision should be made according to the woman’s menstrual cycle and needs to be monitored dynamically. The ovaries of women of childbearing age usually ovulate every month, which can easily lead to inflammation.
