What’s wrong with the pain in the upper part of my chest?

The chest is the part around the lower part of the sternum, the chest right above is the part around the upper part of the sternum, the chest right above the pain may be some kind of physiological phenomenon, it can also be the symptomatic manifestation of some diseases, such as heart disease, mediastinal disease, esophageal disease, etc., and should be timely medical examination to find out the cause of the disease.
⒈ physiological factors: strenuous exercise can lead to some lactic acid in the body, if not broken down into carbon dioxide and water in a short period of time, can lead to the accumulation of lactic acid in the chest muscles, resulting in the appearance of post-sternum pain, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
Peculiar pathologic factors:
(1) Heart disease: mainly caused by damage to the heart structure or myocardial ischemia and caused by retrosternal pain, such as angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and so on.
(2) Mediastinal diseases: such as mediastinal tumors, etc., compressing the nerves or invading the bones and causing severe pain above the chest.
(3) Esophageal diseases: such as esophageal cancer and esophagitis. If the tumor develops metastasis or invades the neighboring organs, it may cause posterior sternal pain in the upper part of the sternum. Esophagitis is usually caused by edema and congestion after the mucosa of esophagus is stimulated or damaged, which is often accompanied by post-sternal pain in the upper part of sternum, acid reflux, heartburn and other symptoms.
Therefore, when pain in the upper part of the chest occurs, after excluding physiological factors, you should go to the hospital in time to consult the doctor, clarify the cause of the disease, and symptomatic treatment.
