Loose permanent teeth are mainly caused by periodontal disease, dental trauma or apical periodontitis, and require periodontal treatment, loose tooth fixation and root canal treatment.
1. Periodontal diseases: Periodontal diseases such as periodontitis or periodontal abscess will lead to inflammatory resorption of the alveolar bone and other periodontal tissues, which will result in loosening of the teeth; periodontal treatment is required, which mainly includes periodontal scaling, periodontal scraping or periodontal flap treatment, to remove tartar or calculus and other irritants which cause periodontal diseases in order to promote periodontal tissues to recover.
2. Dental trauma: Teeth can be dislocated or fractured due to external impact injuries, i.e. loose teeth; if the teeth can be retained, loose teeth fixation treatment can be carried out to promote its healing, on the contrary, if the tooth root is fractured and can’t be retained, then the tooth has to be extracted and restored at a later date for the missing teeth.
3. Periapical periodontitis: Periapical periodontitis will cause the inflammatory substances in the root canal to spread to the alveolar bone and other periodontal tissues around the root of the tooth, which will lead to the symptoms of loose teeth; it is necessary to consult a doctor for root canal treatment to remove the inflammatory infected substances in the root canal in order to effectively treat the above symptoms.
It is recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis of loose permanent teeth to avoid delaying the condition.
