Aminoglucose hydrochloride tablets work primarily to treat arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the result of abnormal proteoglycan biosynthesis in articular cartilage that exhibits degenerative lesions. Glucosamine is a natural amino monosaccharide, which can stimulate chondrocytes to produce proteoglycans with normal multimeric structure, inhibit enzymes damaging cartilage such as collagenic acid and phosphatidic acid A, and prevent the production of superoxide radicals damaging the cells, thus it can slow down the pathological process of osteoarthritis and the progression of the disease, improve the joint movement and relieve pain. Clinically the drug is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoarthritis in all parts of the body: including the knee, hip, spine, shoulder, hand and wrist, ankle. However, the drug may cause adverse reactions such as nausea, constipation, bloating and diarrhea and should be applied under medical supervision. It is contraindicated in case of allergy to glucosamine. The product should be taken with or after meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort, especially in patients with gastric ulcers. Use with caution in severe hepatic and renal insufficiency. Use with caution in pregnant and lactating women.
