Where is the pancreas located?

The pancreas is located in the upper middle of the abdomen, to the left of the liver, in a relatively deep position, usually at the height of the 1st and 2nd lumbar vertebrae, and transversely in the posterior abdominal wall. It can be divided into three parts: the head, body and tail of the pancreas. Because of its hidden location, it is not easy to touch, and the organ is also relatively small, but it is the largest gland, digestive gland in the human body, it has internal and external secretory synthesis, and is able to secrete pancreatic juice and insulin, of which pancreatic juice is secreted by the exocrine department, mainly used to neutralize stomach acid, break down glucose, protein and fat, and participate in the process of material metabolism. Insulin, on the other hand, is secreted by the endocrine department and is mainly used to regulate the metabolism of blood glucose in the body after entering the bloodstream directly, so that blood glucose is always maintained in a relatively balanced state.
