The hazards of widening of the ascending aorta mainly include thinning of the aortic wall and rupture of the aorta. After the widening and expansion of the ascending aorta, the wall of the aorta becomes thin and the elasticity decreases, and the wall is prone to rupture after a sudden rise in blood pressure, followed by bleeding, shock, and even sudden death. The normal diameter of the ascending aorta is 30mm or less, generally greater than 35mm for ascending aortic widening, if greater than 45mm can be diagnosed as aortic aneurysm. Factors causing aortic widening include hypertension, aortic valve stenosis, aortic valve malformation, hyperlipidemia, etc. Dizziness, fatigue, palpitations, blurred vision and other symptoms can occur. Ascending aortic widening can be both a cause and a disease. Ascending aortic widening may lead to aortic atherosclerosis, thickening of the vessel wall, narrowing of the lumen, and aortic widening can be secondary to some cardiovascular diseases, therefore, the discovery of aortic widening should be actively treated with surgical treatment or symptomatic drug treatment. Ascending aortic widening has certain harm, but the degree of harm depends on the degree of widening and the patient’s underlying disease decision, the patient no matter what should actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, to avoid the occurrence of aortic rupture bleeding and other conditions.
