What to do if your baby cries after polio vaccination

It is normal for babies to cry after polio vaccination. Because of the pain that occurs during vaccination, babies may cry in unfamiliar environments. If the baby is not crying very much, it can be coaxed and there are no other symptoms, no special treatment is needed. Breastfeeding is not recommended within half an hour after vaccination. If breastfeeding is early, it may affect the immune response to the vaccine. In addition, you should observe your baby for half an hour at the place where the vaccination was given. If the baby only appears to cry occasionally and is otherwise not irritable, lethargic, mentally ill, or even convulsing or has a rash on his body, he can go home. Once you get home, your baby should stop crying immediately when he or she is in a familiar environment and has finished breastfeeding.
