How long does it usually take for kidney crystals to be excreted

The time when kidney crystals can be excreted from the body is related to the location of the crystals and the patient’s movement, and cannot be generalized. Kidney crystals are the early form of kidney stones and can become the core of stones. After kidney crystals are found, if patients drink a lot of water, keep the daily urine volume above 2000ml, and pay attention to exercise, especially jumping exercise, such as jumping rope, climbing stairs, playing ball and other sports, to promote the discharge of kidney crystals, usually about 2 weeks can be successfully discharged from the body. In some patients, the location of the kidney crystals is good, such as stones located in the middle calyces of the kidney and the upper calyces of the kidney, which may be discharged in 3-5 days. In some patients, the crystals are not well located and are difficult to excrete and may remain in the kidney for a longer period of time. If the crystals continue to be deposited in the kidney, they may lead to the formation of kidney stones and need to be reviewed regularly by the urology department. Patients with kidney crystals are advised to take a light diet and control excessive intake of sodium and protein to facilitate the excretion of kidney crystals.
