Swellam Carbonate Tablets should be swallowed whole, and the instructions recommend a dosage of 0.8g or 1.6g/dose, 3 times/day with meals, after which the dosage should be adjusted according to serum phosphorus levels, as prescribed by the physician.
Sevelamer Carbonate Tablets can bind to phosphate in the digestive tract and reduce its absorption, thus reducing the serum concentration of phosphate. It is used clinically for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis and adult patients with chronic kidney disease whose serum phosphorus is ≥1.78 mmol/L but are not on dialysis.
It should be noted that the use of Sevelamer Carbonate Tablets is prohibited in patients who are allergic to any component of the drug, patients with intestinal obstruction, and patients with hypophosphatemia, and some patients may experience nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, constipation, dyspepsia, abdominal distension and other adverse reactions during the use of the drug, and should consult a doctor in time for medical consultation and treatment if the discomfort is more serious.
