What causes leg root pain?

Leg root pain may be caused by necrosis of the femoral head, hip impingement syndrome, synovitis of the hip joint, lumbar disc herniation, femoral head fracture, hip osteoarthritis and other diseases.
1. Necrosis of the femoral head: ischemic necrosis of the femoral head caused by trauma or other factors. It is mainly manifested by pain and activity limitation in the hip, i.e. at the root of the leg and the knee joint on the same side.
2. Hip impingement syndrome: caused by the femur impinging on the labrum of the joint when moving or flexing the hip, and there may be pain in the whole range of the hip joint including the root of the leg.
3. Hip synovitis: Inflammation of the synovial membrane of the hip joint caused by trauma or bacterial or viral infection, with the main clinical features of pain, swelling and impaired movement in the hip, i.e. the root of the leg.
4. Lumbar intervertebral disc herniation: a degenerative disease of the spine caused by degeneration of the intervertebral discs due to various reasons, most patients will experience lumbar pain and sciatica, and radiating pain as well as numbness and weakness in the lower limbs.
5. Fracture of the femoral head: it is often caused by indirect violence, and the affected side of the hip can be swollen, painful, and restricted in activities.
6. Hip osteomalacia: the appearance of hyperplasia bone spurs in the hip joint surface, in the activities of the hip joint, can be due to the friction of the hyperplasia bone each other and hip joint pain.
If the pain at the root of the leg is not relieved after resting and affects daily walking, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
