Treatment of Stage II Ovarian Cancer

Stage II ovarian cancer can be considered to be treated by surgery and combined treatment plan such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy after surgery. Stage II ovarian cancer refers to the tumor involving one or both ovaries and having pelvic spread, in which stage IIA refers to the extension of lesion or metastasis to uterus, fallopian tube or ovary; stage IIB refers to the extension of lesion to other pelvic organs. If there are indications for surgery in this stage, surgical resection should be preferred, and chemotherapy should be administered under the guidance of the doctor according to the specific conditions after surgery. In addition, if there is a target for targeted drugs or immune drugs, these drugs can also be used to slow down the progression of the disease and reduce the probability of recurrence and metastasis as prescribed by the doctor. At present, radiotherapy is only used as palliative treatment for some recurrent ovarian cancer. It is recommended that patients should consult the doctor in time and take active treatment to avoid delaying the disease.
