Cuttlebone

Cuttlebone refers to the dried egg sheaths of praying mantises, including the Great Cuttlebone, Small Cuttlebone, or Giant Axe Mantis. Cuttlebone has the effect of fixing semen and shrinking urine (consolidating semen and urine, preventing random leakage), tonifying the kidney and strengthening the yang, and can be used in spermatorrhea, spermatorrhea, and other disorders.
Cuttlebone is flat in nature, sweet and salty in taste, and belongs to the liver and kidney meridians, with the effect of tonifying the kidney and strengthening the yang, consolidating semen and shrinking urine. Patients can use this product if they suffer from urinary emission and frequent urination, seminal emission and slippage, urinary incontinence, premature ejaculation, impotence, and whitish urine (cloudy urine like white slurry) and other conditions.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of cuttlebone are not clear at present, and it is noted that it should be taken with caution by those who have a deficiency of yin and fire, or those who have dampness and heat in the bladder. Cuttlebone is collected from the egg sheaths on the trees in the fall of each year to the following spring, steamed for 30-40 minutes and then dried in the sun or dried.
Drugs should be taken under the guidance of a physician, do not self-medicate to avoid adverse consequences.
