Cervical effusion is not cancer, but uterine tumours can lead to cervical effusion. Cervical effusion can be classified as either physiological or pathological. Physiological cervical effusion can be seen in women during ovulation, menstruation and after childbirth. Pathological cervical effusion can be caused by acute/chronic cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical tumours, cervical columnar epithelial ectoplasia, and the placement of an intrauterine device. Once you suspect cervical effusion, you should seek medical attention for a clear diagnosis and symptomatic treatment.
