Color ultrasound generally can not detect kidney failure, but can assist in the diagnosis of kidney failure. Renal failure will have certain performance on color ultrasound, for example, chronic renal failure patients will have bilateral small kidneys, thin cortex, poorly demarcated corticomedullary, etc. Acute renal failure patients may have enlarged kidneys. However, the diagnosis of renal failure can not be based solely on color ultrasound, the diagnosis of renal failure needs to be combined with other related tests, especially renal function tests. Finding patients with elevated urea, creatinine, and decreased glomerular filtration rate will help diagnose kidney failure, and other tests such as routine blood tests, parathyroid hormone, and electrolyte tests will help determine whether kidney failure is acute or chronic. Patients with renal failure are advised to go to regular hospitals in time, complete the examination under the guidance of physicians, clarify the cause of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment.
